This year I had the honor of collaborating visually with ProDanza Mexicali, a renowned ballet and dance school for girls and teenagers that has shaped generations of dancers in the city.
While the original plan was to photograph all the students involved in the show, out of respect and professional ethics, I’ve chosen not to publish any images of minors. Instead, I’m sharing a special selection of portraits featuring the teachers — the guiding force behind the school’s magic.
🌟 A Show Full of Magic and Discipline
This year’s performance was inspired by the world of Disney’s Aladdin, and each number brought together imagination, choreography, costume design, and dedication. The teachers portrayed symbolic characters from the story, including the scarlet bird, which is reflected in the fiery red costumes with winged sleeves, as well as other iconic roles from the Aladdin universe.
🎠Beyond the Stage
These images are more than a record of the event. They’re a tribute to artistic dedication — to the discipline behind every rehearsal, and the passion these women bring to every class. Working with them was a creative, respectful, and professional experience. Every frame was crafted to capture their energy, strength, and the essence of the show.
🧞‍♀️ Special Thanks
Thank you to the entire ProDanza Mexicali team for your trust, your openness, and for allowing me to be part of this world filled with discipline and fantasy. As a visual storyteller, it’s always a privilege to document art born from passion.
📍ProDanza Mexicali is a dance academy with years of artistic legacy in the region.
